A Diya painting and decoration workshop was conducted for the residents of the Garima Greh to teach them a fun new skill for the upcoming Diwali celebration, the participants eagerly showcased their creative side through the workshop with the help of a skilled resource person.
Members of the shelter home had participated in the Exhibition sale organized by Jan Shikshan Sansthan Worli Mumbai under the skill India programme where they had put a Diwali Stall of diyas, kandil, lanterns, handmade soaps which was made by the residents. Their efforts got tremendous response from the public and all of their products were sold very quickly. On this behalf the organising team felicitated Kinnar Asmita Garima Greh with a participation certificate and lots of appreciation and love for the shelters and their hard work
This is for the very first time that the election commission has come with their team to Kinnar Asmita Garima Greh, Kalyan Maharashtra shelter home to help the transgender community to get their voter id card for the coming elections. Their team took immense effort to make the camp successful and more than 100 Transperson including shelter inmates have been successfully registered for the India Government voter identity card
